All of your retirement plans such as a 401(k) or 403(b), for example; all life insurance policies, annuities, and certain types of bank and investment accounts such as an IRA (either Traditional or Roth), or accounts designated Transfer on Death or Payable on Death, require that you name at least one beneficiary. Time passes, life events happen, marriages, death, divorce, children, and your original beneficiaries get out of date. Do yourself a favor and help avoid unintended consequences by reviewing and updating all of your beneficiaries now, and at regular dates in the future.
If you have questions or need assistance identifying those accounts, please feel free to contact Tom at 713-407-4304 or email at email@example.com.
