Those who meet the eligibility requirements may join the Credit Union.There are three convenient ways to establish membership.

1. Join SFCU by filling out our online membership application.
2. There is a Member Service Manager at each of our office locations, who will make opening an SFCU account an easy, pleasant experience. To open an account at a office location, you must bring:
• A driver's license, plus proof of eligibility.
• A document showing a social security number such as Social Security Card, a copy of a Social Security Card, or a payroll stub.
• Cash or a check for at least $5 payable to Smart Financial Credit Union. The $5 will be deposited into your Membership Account.
3. If you don't have the time to come into a service center, you can give one of our Telephone Service Representatives a call at (713) 850-1600 or (800) 392-5084. The Telephone Service Representative will mail everything you need to open an SFCU Account, even a postage-paid envelope.
   To join by mail, you must:

• Complete the Membership card in full, signing where indicated.
• Include a photocopy of your driver's license (or other official picture identification) plus proof of eligibility such as a payroll stub, etc.
• Enclose a check in the amount of at least $5 payable to Smart Financial Credit Union. The $5 will be deposited to your Membership Account.
• Mail the completed Membership Card and check to:
